Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year in Judaism and Samaritanism. It occurs annually on the 10th of Tishrei, corresponding to a date in late September or early October.

Yom Kippur 2025 begins at sundown on Wednesday, October 1, and ends at nightfall on Thursday, October 2. This is the holiest Jewish holiday and the most important twenty-four hour period, known as the “Day of Atonement”—the last of the ten days of penitence that began on Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year).
