Deaf Awareness Week is an annual event in the UK that aims to:
- Raise awareness of hearing loss and its impact on people's lives
- Promote a better understanding of deafness, D/deaf culture, and the experiences of D/deaf people
- Educate others on how they can support the deaf community
- Celebrate the contributions of the Deaf community
- Promote the rights of Deaf people worldwide
- Raise awareness of the isolation that deaf people can occasionally experience
- Promote the importance of social inclusion around the deaf community
