Disability Pride Month is an opportunity to raise awareness of disabilities, start positive conversations and celebrate the diversity and differences of the disabled community.
The first Disability Pride Day was celebrated in Boston, Massachusetts on October 6, 1990. The first Disability Pride Month was celebrated in 2015 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Disability Pride Month celebrates people with disabilities, their culture, identities, and contributions to society.
