Includability Committed Employer ViacomCBS has won the award for Best Inclusive Campaign from the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI)

A Virtual Ceremony was held in December celebrating pioneering employers and recruiters who, as we return to a very different working world after the pandemic, are safeguarding and progressing opportunities for disabled job seekers through accessible and equitable employment policies and processes.

Catherine Pereira, International Talent Acquisition Director at ViacomCBS, said “We are so honoured to have been nominated for Best Inclusive Recruitment Campaign for our 2021 Entry Level schemes, at this year’s Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI). To have won is an incredible achievement and we are proud of the recognition! This marks the beginning of a continuous journey to always assess, adapt and drive inclusive hiring at ViacomCBS Networks International!”    

This added to Viacom’s international success in December as 11 of their US based employees were also named by US media publisher, Cynopsis, as Rising Stars of the year.

Who sponsored the RIDI awards?

The RIDI Awards ceremony was ‘Gold’ sponsored by Includability Official Partner, Recite Me. They added their congratulations to all of the winners and nominees of the RIDI awards, adding, “It was a fantastic virtual ceremony that we are proud to sponsor.”

All finalists and winners were honoured for sharing their stories of best practice in increasing disability confidence in the recruitment sector.

Who are RIDI?

The RIDI is a purpose lead organisation that seeks to break down the barriers faced by the millions of disabled people who are entering or progressing through the job market. They help to achieve this vision by helping recruiters and employers to become disability confident and offer more job opportunities to people with disabilities.

A joint initiative started in 2011 when the realisation was made things had to change to improve the poor job prospects for disabled people. At the time, 85% of disabled people felt that their condition was holding them back from getting a job and 80% of recruiters agreed with them and thought their companies needed to do more to attract disabled jobseekers.

Their aim was to work with the industry to give recruiters and employers the information and tools they need to change things.

The first RIDI Awards were held in 2014 to celebrate progress on disability in recruitment.
