LONDON, 30/06/2026 – Includability is delighted to welcome Voltempo as its newest Committed Employer and the first organisation in the electric freight sector to do so, marking a significant moment for the industry.
Voltempo is a UK manufacturer of advanced EV charging systems, built for the demands of commercial fleet and HGV electrification. Its HyperCharger technology is designed and made in Birmingham, and delivers over 1MW of dynamically distributed power, enough to charge an electric HGV in around 30 minutes, or share power across a whole fleet between shifts.
The company is helping shape the future of electric freight in the UK. Voltempo leads the eFREIGHT 2030 consortium, rolling out a national network of megawatt-scale charging hubs for fleet operators. In January, it powered the UK's first megawatt-scale electric HGV charging hub at Kuehne+Nagel's East Midlands Gateway site, working with operators including Marks & Spencer, Wincanton, Maritime and Menzies.
Simon Smith, CEO of Voltempo, said:
"The electric freight sector is extraordinarily good at solving hard technical problems. We can talk all day about megawatt charging, grid capacity and route optimisation. But if you ask most companies in this space about their approach to inclusion, psychological safety or leadership development, you'll get a much vaguer answer. That's a problem. Not just ethically, but commercially. The talent this sector needs to deliver on its ambitions isn't going to come from the same narrow pipeline it always has. We want to be the kind of company that the next generation of engineers, operators and leaders actually wants to work for."
As part of the process, Includability will work with Voltempo to develop a Cultural Roadmap: an expert-led, evidence-based review of where the organisation stands today across six core pillars: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Mental Health; Wellbeing; Sustainability & Impact; Talent Management; and Leadership & Governance.
The Roadmap is not a badge or a benchmark exercise. It gives the leadership and people teams a structured, practical view of what is working, where there is room to strengthen, and how to keep supporting its people as the business grows. Voltempo is leading the way by showing that the future of clean transport isn't only about infrastructure, technology and carbon reduction. It's also about the people, culture and leadership needed to build something that lasts.
Udochukwu Umeh, People Manager at Voltempo, said:
"When you're in a fast-moving business in a fast-moving sector, it's easy for culture to become reactive: something you deal with when a problem arises rather than something you actively shape. The Cultural Roadmap gives us a real framework to work from: not a set of policies to tick off, but a genuine picture of where we are and where we want to get to.”
James Pravato, CEO & Co-Founder of Includability, said:
"Voltempo are exactly the kind of organisation we love working with. They're operating in a sector that's going to shape the future of transport and sustainability in the UK, and they understand that growth has to be supported by culture, people and leadership. The Cultural Roadmap will give Voltempo a clear, practical, evidence-led view of where they are now and how they keep building a workplace that performs as they scale. This isn't about another badge on the wall. It's about giving the leadership team and the people team real clarity, structure and direction."
Becoming a Committed Employer gives Voltempo access to Includability's expert-led review process, monthly Community Support Groups, a specialist partner network, their Cultural Roadmap, learning resources and the wider community.
The Includability community brings together some of the biggest and brightest organisations in the UK that are serious about building better workplaces across inclusion, mental health, wellbeing, sustainability, leadership and talent. Voltempo joins that group as the first EV company to do so: a forward-thinking business working at the intersection of clean transport, technology, infrastructure and people-led growth.
