JEDI INCLUSION TOOLKIT
Inclusive Communications and Accessible Events
Make everything you publish, send or host open to more people. You finish with an inclusive communications guide, an event checklist with barriers removed and an accessibility statement ready to publish.
What is in the accessible events and inclusive communications toolkit?
Inclusive Communications and Accessible Events is an accessible events checklist, inclusive communications guide and digital accessibility checklist in the JEDI Inclusion Toolkit. It helps you set the language, representation and formats your teams use, plan events everyone can join, fix barriers on your website and internal tools, and publish an accessibility statement.
Who it's for
- Marketing, communications and internal comms teams
- Event organisers and anyone hosting meetings, training or socials
- B Corp certification leads working on JEDI2.i, JEDI2.l, JEDI2.m and JEDI2.p
Who are your communications and events leaving out?
Everything you publish, send or host either opens the door to people or quietly closes it. An image that only shows one kind of person, a PDF a screen reader cannot read or a venue with steps at the entrance can all tell someone this was not made for them.
Most of it is not intentional. Teams simply have nothing to check against, so the same barriers come back with every campaign, newsletter and event, and nobody records what was fixed.

Support
You can email us with questions as you work through any module, and you can book a call with the team to talk through how to get the most from the toolkit. If there's a template, tool or feature you'd like to see added, tell us. We build the toolkit around what the people using it need.
Questions we get asked
What are inclusive communications?
Messages and materials that people can access, understand and see themselves in. That covers the words you use, how you represent people, the formats you offer and the channels you choose.
What should an accessible events checklist include?
Venue and travel, timings, ways to join, materials and formats, food, and how people ask for adjustments, plus a log of barriers found and what you changed. The event checklist covers each of these.
What is an accessibility statement?
A public page explaining how accessible your website is, what still needs fixing and how people can get help or report a problem. The module helps you draft one ready to publish.
Is there an inclusive communications policy template?
Yes. The module gives you guidance and templates to build an inclusive communications guide for internal and external content, which works as an EDI or diversity and inclusion communications policy.
How does this module support B Corp JEDI2?
It supports JEDI2.i, JEDI2.l, JEDI2.m and JEDI2.p. Your communications guide, content checklists, event records and accessibility statement show how you communicate and host inclusively.
What support do we get?
You can email us with questions as you work through the module, and book a call with James and Dave to talk through getting the most from it.
Can we suggest new templates or features?
Yes. Tell us what you would like to see added. We build the toolkit around what the people using it need.
Is this module a certification?
No. Includability does not assess, certify, accredit or verify anything. B Lab assesses and certifies B Corps. The module helps you do the work and gather the evidence.
Not sure which modules you need?
A Cultural Roadmap with a JEDI Gap Analysis shows you, so you start where your gaps are.
The Roadmap shows the gaps. The toolkit closes them and produces your evidence.
